KCAC Connection

The Kane County Child Advocacy Center was established in May 1994 to serve the children of Kane County who have been sexually or severely physically abused.  The Center was established to ensure coordination and cooperation among all of the Kane County agencies involved in child abuse cases; to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of those agencies; to minimize the stress created for the child and his or her family by the investigatory and judicial processes; and to ensure that effective treatment is provided to all child victims and their families.

However, many of the abused children and their families have needs for assistance which cannot be met by the Advocacy Center and the legal system, and that’s why the Friends of the KCAC came into existence.  Friends is a not-for profit corporation which raises funds to provide the special services and assistance that the legal system cannot provide, but the children and their families need to begin rebuilding their lives.
